Reponse on Sarah’s Blog; body modification

i had heard of chinese bending their feet, but had never seen a propar picture of it. it looks painful. Just goes to show how some people would so draw to these things that even pain seems sweet to them or even nothing. Very informative, and yes no bitching! लोल

Reponse on Aruge’s Blog; Bad comedians

I agree with you। There are bad comedians and good. Bads always try to put a situation in there joke that not everyone would laugh at. Racist or not racist, they need to be just jokes. That only one would laugh at, and not end upset. Afterall, a joke is to cheer you up and not upset you instead!

Racism still EXISTS!

Racism is one issue; the society still has not been able to tackle yet. This issue is still a strong argument in schools and colleges. Teachers are still finding a way to stop the children from bullying or been bullied. Bullying is still an issue that has caused many unfortunate deaths in the UK. And even though it has strong policies against it there are still parents that don’t take it as a serious issue. Many would let it pass If they are aware of there child bullying someone, it’s mostly the social outcastes, ‘book worms, fat girls and nerds’ bullying is a social torture that the children go through in many cases, settings of the environment.

There are help lines, and one-to-one teachers to talk to but still children that go through it. Which makes it obvious that child still don’t trust the policies or the help isn’t reaching out much to the pupils whom really require the help.

Prostitution

Why would anyone do it?

Well I think no one plans to do it. it’s the greed for some or forced into it. apparantly prostition has a lot of money, and for this reason many pimps tend to trade prostitues and stay rich! Majority of the girls are usually foreign, speak no enlgish or the language of where they are traded to, so that they do not contact the police.

Many girls do this to earn moe the easy way, morally it’s COMPLETELY wrong! There are many other ways to earn money than selling yourself for it. Either girls are influenced or inspired to look ‘IN’ and these days people kill to look good aswell.

I think there should be support available for these girls as there is for everything else. They pupils in schools should receive education to prevent being drawn into these things.

I Swear!

Swearing! People don’t breathe as much as they swear these days. Even if a person was learning a new language, the first thing they would learn are the swear words. Swearing once was a shameful thing to do. Morally, swearing is wrong. It’s a sin according to Religions. But you hear even the religious ministers doing it. It’s a bad habit that usually starts at the beginning of childhood. Its in media, comisc, newspapers. Even the advers seem to promote the idea of swearing as it Is more ‘catching’
Theres nothing more that I can discuss about this topic, it’s a ‘disease’ that has no cure but has spreaded like air wolrd widely (more like a unviersal languaage) :p

Body MODIFICATION?

The words ‘modification explains a lot by it self. Tattooing once body has become a fashionable activity. Once it was known as an ‘odd’ thing to do. However, now it’s like buying a new pair of shoes. Majority of the young girls from the age of 5-6 want a tattoo. There are many individuals who are addicted to having their body tattooing or piercing from head to toe….. : S and now there’s even eye tattooing! What’s next?

Asian use Henna (Mehndi) An herbal mix liquid which is use to draw out patterns. But this is totally harms and purely temporary. That’s another way of tattooing once body, why use the harmful way? Pulse if it goes wrong, it’s not staying for long for u to amend! : P

Tattooing

Coometing on Miny's post on tatooing;

The lecture WAS a bit awkward. Tattooing once body isn’t a ‘cool’ thing to do. Especially for those who are really obsessed with tattooing and piercing their body :s

drinking

http://hafzaiqbal.blogspot.com/2010/04/drinking-alcohol.html#comments

commenting on Hafsa's post;

I totally agree with you, it is a ‘general’ activity in Britain to get drunk! It has become the culture of this society. Looking at it overall, I think it’s a growing problem. No wonder why the children see it as fashion or as a growing up thing to do because they are so use to seeing their elders drinking in front of their faces!

Bandits and Outlaws

As we see in history there were many personalities that were known as outlaws i.e. Robin Hood, Jesse James and Pretty Boy. Even though these were called ‘Robbers, Outlaws, and even ordered to be killed. However, these weren’t all bad as many would sound. Robin Hood a legend for the poor, who would pronounce him as ‘noble robber’ he robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. This was not seen as morally wrong to do so. They were champions for the poor and political outlaws. Jesse James, another outlaw that inspires the Americans even today. He let his gang to rob the trains of America.

These were involved in morally wrong activities; however they had good reasons to do so. The law system hated them for their behaviour, where as the poor, or weak adored the. I guess that was how they actually got the way back from the richer, as many were not as kind to feed the poor neighbour. In another words these legendary outlaws probably existed for the best.

Typical Asian Girl….. Continued…

I know our religion (Islam) does not force the females into anything. Infact its gives the most freedom to us than any other! Obviously, the RIGHT way. However, as i have mentioned before, it’s the parents who use the culture and label it is 'religion' this happens with majority of Asian girls, not just Muslims but even Sikh and Hindu’s.

About the relationship issue, religious wise wrong… but our religon also teaches us the reason why it’s wrong to do so. However, looking at the culture here, not every youth practices them (why) Even though our religion teaches us to get married ASAP if we feel that we have seen/heard/found the right partner, BUT at this point parents come in with their caste issues (blackmailing starts) Probably why our generation chooses to have the same partner for so many years instead, of course undercover! This is reality..... Would you class this as morally right or worng?

Overall, I would still say if our religion was practiced the RIGHT way, these problems wouldn’t have existed at all!

Typical Asian British Girl

Having to leave education straight after GCSE’s or being “watched” till you get married even being forced to stay home and cook for the family. These concerns are still on British Asian girls minds, even though you’d think time has moved, tradition have changed. But for many Asian girls, they are still under treat from their so called traditional families. Families, which may use the concept of “Religion” to emotionally blackmail the girls to obey their orders.

While working with young Asian girls studying at stage 4, I realised their concerns are quite similar even now. Many worry about making a ‘stupid’ mistake i.e. having a boyfriend and getting caught by their family; this could stop their education even before they were to apply for FE.

However, I’m still considering whether the society would address these issues morally wrong or would you call it “Being a Bad Asian?”

DRUGS; Can we live without them?

I think the lecturer was right about not being able to live without drugs. We are surrounded by them no matter what; drugs are used to cure us as we are ill. They are used to alter certain things in our bodies. Probably another way of keeping your body the way you desire it without having to go through pin and needles sessions.
Although in society, we all teach one another drugs are bad yet we all still take drugs. Example; medicines, Passive smoking, and those we take for pleasure i.e. class drugs etc

Bad cinema

Often when you come out of the cinemas, you hear your mates saying completely different about the movie you have all just watched.

Some may criticise the move some may not. Flop movies often give the industries a bad name, especially form the magazine critics. However what I would call bad cinema is when movies are made to encourage the youngsters, i.e. bad teen films, movies to do with terrorism etc... That may encourage the wrong crowd of people to react upon the reviews of the films.

Shop lifting; Who does it?

Well when ever this question is asked many would reply “tramps”

Maybe that is true, homeless tend do it a lot. Whereas, the other tyoe that do it would be young teenager’s doing it for fun.

These two reasons to do so, I think the homeless would only do it as they are mentally preasurised to do so. They dont work to eat, instead they beg and if the daily earning hasn’t made to daily meal then they would be forced to shoplift. However, this does turn into an addiction For many that may be involved
This link explains why there is shoplifting and how people are tempted to do so

STALKING

Week 3: stalking a bad thing?

Is stalking is bad? At what extend does stalking become dangerous?

Well stalking is knownas a normal thing to do even though it’s known as crime now। It still happens. I think it’s a bad thing. If ones not being honest then obviousl it’s a sign of a relstionship going going bad or ending. It’s mostly the parnters i think that would do so, either to check on them if their 'other half' is cheating on them or not. But what ever the reason a person has the right to keep their personal space. Stalking is just saddos job and it’s BAD!

Lies

WEEK 4; Why would someone tell lies?
It is a norm to lies… Humans are automatically lie, even if their faith or rights tell them not to do it… In lecture we discussed if there was a gender difference. Many said women lie more harshly then men would… I.e. women would lie to stay on the good side of everything, whereas, men would lie only to protect… this I thought was very un-predictive answer.... Different people lie for different reasons and gender does not count for that. Whoever, many would lie to protect themselves not just for the sake of it… There are also ‘white lies’ which many would think it’s the good side of lying and there are ‘black lies’ the evil lies people would tell to keep themselves on the good side only...

Black or white, I think people shouldn’t lie at all, because truth is never hidden forever….. Honesty is the best policy… :D

SMOKING

I think smokingn is one issue which no matter how many times we are told "its bad for ya" people would still smoke.. Every smoker is aware of the damage it does to them; they still tend to smoke...
In the lecture we discussed why people smoke and if it’s WRONG… Being a non-smoker I see many people smoke... Some are influenced by otheres yet some are not (like me) it is always up to YOU if you want to smoke or not…. Other issue we discussed was that ‘Why would they stop smoking?’ Well... No one would stop smoking because THEY want to… a smoker will always stop smoking by being told to do so, i.e. their parents (rarely) and their children (more likely)

Overall I think the smokers in the lecture didn’t change their views on smoking at all…. :D
